Hand carved Boruca Masks from the indigenous Boruca tribe of Costa Rica! These masks are made from the extremly lightweight balsa wood and are sculpted into these wonderful works of art perfect for hanging on the wall. The history and traditions of Borucan masks began over 500 years ago, during the Spanish Conquest. "Diablito" masks, or little devil masks were created and worn with the intent to scare the unwelcome invaders back to Spain. Each masks is signed on the back ensuring authenticity, has a hook for hanging and comes with an information card!
